Obituary of June Windle Hogan

Delphenia June "Junebug" Windle Hogan went to her heavenly home Monday, April 8, 2019. 

She was born September 15, 1930 in Roanoke, Virginia and was preceded in death by her husband, Clifton C. (Sack) Hogan; mother and father, Clay R. and Mabel A Moore Windle; sister, Virginia R. (Vergie) Lyons and brother, Randolph H. (Ralph) Windle.

Surviving are her loving children, Nancy D. H. Darby and husband Michael of Vinton, Charles C. Hogan and Janna Ricks of Franktown, Colorado; two dear granddaughters, Shawn M. Wright and husband Steve, and Catherine A. Laucella;  one precious great grandson, Jacob Clifton Benson; three very special nieces, Carolyn L. Wells and husband Roy of Chesterfield, Susan E. Pelletier and husband Richard of Chesapeake; and Donna L. Lyons of Trenton, SC; and a very dear friend, Terry Laucella.

June was a 1948 graduate of Jefferson High School after which she entered the Lewis Gale School of Nursing.  She became a Registered Nurse in 1951 and worked at Lewis Gale until her retirement in 1992.  She was an active member of the Lewis Gale Alumnae until her death.

In lieu of flowers the family requestst that memorials be made to the Melrose Baptist Church Missions Fund 3520 Peters Creek Road Roanoke, VA  24019 or to the Lewis Gale Alumnae Scholarship Fund C/O Phyllis Bateman 2051 Kiska Road Salem, VA  24153.

A celebration of June's life will be held 1 p.m. Friday, April 12, 2019 at Melrose Baptist Church with the Rev. Larry Sprouse and the Rev. Brenda Rowe officiating.  The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Thursday at Simpson Funeral Home 5160 Peters Creek Road.  366-0707
