Obituary of William Luther Myers

William L. Myers, 89, of Roanoke joined his heavenly family on April 4, 2019. He was born in Norfolk, VA on August 29, 1929.  He will be having his next “family Friday night pizza dinner” in heaven.

Left to honor his memory are daughter Linda Turner of Roanoke; son, William Myers, Jr. (wife Heather) of Roanoke; granddaughters, Chris Pendleton (husband Chad) of Middletown; Jamie Fahnestock (husband Caleb) of Winchester; and Meghan O’Dell (husband Joe) of Rapid City, S. Dakota; great grandchildren, Kelsen and Ansley Pendleton; Luciana, Jed and Emaline Fahnestock; and Owen, Grady and Jax O’Dell; brother Dudley of Norfolk, and many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Joanne; his parents, Willie and Hazel Myers of Plymouth, NC; sister Marie Nobles of Fayetteville, NC and Martha Syren of Anchorage, Alaska; brothers Randy Myers of Fairfax; Frankie Myers of Martinez, Georgia; and his son-in-law Johnny “J” Turner.

The family offers a special thanks to the church family at Faith Alliance Church for their love and prayers and to the staff of Good Samaritan Hospice.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be made to Faith Alliance Church or Good Samaritan Hospice 2408 Electric Road Roanoke VA 24018.  The memorial service will be conducted at 11:00am on Tuesday, April 9, 2019 at Faith Alliance Church, 7505 Barrens Road, Roanoke, VA 24019 by the Rev. Joseph Pjecha.  Interment will be private.  The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00pm and 6:00 to 8:00pm on Monday, April 8 at Simpson Funeral Home, 5160 Peters Creek Road, Roanoke, VA 24019. 540-366-0707.
