Obituary of Cynthia White King

Cynthia White King, 77, of Roanoke (formerly of Knoxville, TN) went home to be with her Lord and Savior Saturday, March 16, 2019.  She was preceded by her husband, Thomas Victor King and parents, John and Mabel White.

Cynthia was saved on Mothers Day when she was eleven years old.  She was baptized the next Sunday at Lincoln Park Baptist Church.  She has been an active member of numerous Southern Baptist congregations through the years.  This affiliation has provided a path of strong faith throughout her life.

Surviving are her sons, Randall Scott (Jennifer) King, Rodney Dwayne (Julie) King, all of Roanoke, Joseph Allan (Terry) King of Smyrna, GA, and John Edward (Kim) King of Knoxville, TN; grandchildren, Kimberly, Thomas, Joseph, Matthew, Ashley, Nolan, Easton, Justin and Amanda; great grandchildren, Scarlett, Cora, Kenley and Liam; brother, John White of Conroe TX; sisters-in-law, Charolette King, of Knoxville, TN, and Ruth Waldrop of Lexington, KY.  Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to Bonsack Baptist Church 4845 Cloverdale Road Roanoke, VA 24019.

Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Thursday, March 21, 2019 at Simpson Funeral Home 5160 Peters Creek Road.  Interment will follow in Evergreen Burial Park.  The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Simpson Funeral Home.  366-0707
