Obituary of Robert Lewis

Robert Lee (Bobby) Lewis 85 or Roanoke went to be with the Lord on Friday, October 19, 2012. He was preceded by his first wife, Dorothy Lewis; three sisters and four brothers. Mr. Lewis was a member of North Roanoke Baptist Church and John Draper Sunday School for many years. He served his country proudly in the United States Army and is a retired Iron Worker from Local 697 here in Roanoke. He was always there for anyone in need; dearly loved and respected by many also he always commented to everyone how proud he is of his family, children and grandchildren". "We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord" He will be missed by all and his Sunday school class. Surviving are his wife, Winnie Lewis; daughters, Linda Cronise and husband Steve, Kathy Markham and husband Calvin; grandsons, Robert Cronise and fiancée Lindsey Overstreet, David Cronise and wife Mary; great grandchildren, Kevin Cronise, Abigail Cronise; sisters, Janet, Joanna, Martha, Charlotte and stepson, Jim Yates. Friends may visit with the family Sunday, October 21, 2012 from 2:00-4:00pm and 6:00-8:00pm at Simpson Funeral Home. A service celebrating Bobby's life will be held 11:00am Monday, October 22, 2012 at North Roanoke Baptist Church with Pastor Darryl Crim officiating.
