Obituary of Melinda Craven Stout

Melinda Craven Stout, 44, of Bedford County passed away Wednesday, March 13, 2019. She is preceded in death by her loving parents Charles (Chuck) Craven and Sandra (Sandy) Poff Craven, grandmother Juanita Poff, along with other loving aunts and uncles. She is survived by her devoted husband James Stout; three children Braeden, Journie and Arianna, her brother Danny Craven and numerous loving aunts, uncles and cousins.

She grew up surrounded by a large, loving family and graduated from Staunton River High School. Melinda was known for her huge heart, loving smile, contagious laughs and her amazing, unforgettable hugs. Her children were her life and she loved taking them to Bounce and to the park. 

Melinda loved working with children and spent her life working with them as a caregiver, teacher and in many other roles. She worked at Creative Kids Childcare Center and HoneyTree Daycare over the years and made numerous lasting friendships.

The family would like to extend their sincerest thanks to the following people for their help during this troubling time. Dean Davison, Daniel Johnson, Ronnie Lester, Jessie Parks, Carl Powers, Crystal Pugh, Sherri Taylor, Matt Ward, Donnie Wray, Rhonda Wray, Kimberly Barnhart, Kristen Lang, Adam Mills, Lee Mills, Tyler Mills and Tracy Mills.

A celebration of Melinda's life will be held 2 p.m. Satrday, March 16, 2019 at Simpson Funeral Home 5160 Peters Creek Road.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.  Arrangements by Simpson Funeral Home & Crematory.  366-0707
