Obituary of Emma Geneva Pitcock Franklin

Emma Geneva Pitcock Franklin, of Roanoke entered her heavenly home on Saturday, February 23, 2019.  Born on June 2, 1933 in Rural Retreat, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Hunter and Lavada Pitcock.  In addition to her mother and father, she was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Billy C. Franklin; brother, Charles C. Pitcock; and nephew, "Chuckie" Pitcock.

She is survived by her daughter, Eula; grandsons, Michael (Gail) and Chrisopher (Kristi); great grandson, Alan; and sister, Mary Pitcock.

Emma's family would like to give much deserved special recognition to the medical staff on Unit 3 of Friendship Manor South.  We will always remember the care and concern you rendered to her and to each one of us.  We appreciate all of you!  To Emma's caregivers, a most special group of God's loving servants, Phoebe, Patty, Jackie, Vickie, Linda, Carol, Mary Lou, Becky,  Pat and John, we extend a heartfelt thanks to each of you and will be forever grateful!!  To our New Life Christian Ministries Church Family, we love and appreciate you and thank you for your prayers, visits, cards, texts, phone calls and support over the last year for "Ms. Emma" a true champion of the Most High God!  We will never forget!  God bless each and everyone of you!

Funeral services will be conducted  at noon on Saturday, March 2, 2019 at New Life Christian Ministries 5745 Airport Road by Pastors Walter Wood and Gary Alls.  Interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.  In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to New Life Christian Ministries 5745 Airport Road Roanoke, VA  24012.  Arrangements by Simpson Funeral Home.  366-0707
