Obituary of Rebecca Keffer Wallace
Rebecca Ballard Keffer Wallace, departed this life on February 20, 2019.
She was born on June 4, 1974, a twin and youngest of the family of six
siblings.
Rebecca was an excellent student, graduating from Cave Spring High
School, and she furthered her education at VWCC where she received
her Legal Secretary degree. She then went on to work as a paralegal for
several law firms in Roanoke, including Gentry, Locke and Frankl, Miller
and Webb. She enjoyed singing karaoke, especially performing Mariah
Carey, Alanis Morrisette and Gladys Knight. She also had an
appreciation for old musicals. Her favorite was West Side Story. She
was known to be a shoe and clothing connoisseur. She could never have
too many shoes and was a firm believer that the right pair of shoes
made the outfit. Rebecca could light up the room with her beautiful
smile. She cherished her family and spending time with her close
friends, going out to eat or to the Homestead Resort. She loved nature
and taking hikes and on her down time would kick back with a good
book to read. Not only was she a very kind and generous soul to those
around her, she also had a passion for animals, especially her own two
dogs, Maddie and Rilee.
She was predeceased by her father, Dr. Ernest Jackson Alexander Keffer,
Jr., her brother “Alex” Ernest Jackson Alexander Keffer, III, and her
brother-in-law “JD” John David DiCarlo. She leaves to cherish her
memory, her mother Shirley Jordan Keffer, her sisters Kathleen DiCarlo,
Anne Gentry, Jennifer Ferguson, her twin brother John Keffer, her
brother-in-laws John Gentry and David Ferguson, her sister-in-law
Michelle Keffer, her nieces and nephews Jackie and John Gentry, David
and Colleen DiCarlo, Andrew Ferguson, aunt Ann Keffer and cousins
Kevin, Ginger, Charlie and a host of friends.
The family will have a Celebration of Life in the early Spring. If you feel
so inclined, in lieu of flowers, the family would greatly appreciate
donations towards funeral expenses which can be made directly to Anne
