Chester (Teddy) Akers Jr., 70, of Roanoke, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 5, 2011. He was preceded by his parents, Chester L. Akers Sr. and Goldie Dillow. Surviving are his loving and caring wife of eight years, Emy Jane Akers; son, Jody Lynn Akers, of Pulaski; grandchildren, Kara Lynn Akers and Jonathan Hunter Akers; sister, Dorothy Akers, of Roanoke; and number of nieces, nephews and good friends. A Memorial Service celebrating Teddy's life will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, November 11, 2011, at The Church of St. Peter and St. Paul, 4909 North Lake Drive, Roanoke, Va., 24019 (540) 562-0511, with the Rev. Philip Bottomley officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date. Friends may visit with the family following the service. Friends may leave condolences at www.simpsonfuneral.com.
