Obituary of Caudel Newman Abbott, Sr.

Caudel N. “Link” Abbott, Sr., 83, of Roanoke, passed away Monday, February 11, 2019.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Henritze Abbott; son, Jay S. Abbott; brothers, Robert Abbott, Edmond Abbott, and Donald Abbott; sister Connie Arrington,as well as, his parents. 

Surviving are his sons, Caudel N. Abbott, Jr. and fiancé, Debbie Giordano, Jeffrey M. Abbott & wife, Jenifer Eisner; granddaughters, Cynthia Kerr and husband Richard, Julie Abbott, and Meghann Eisner Gearheart and husband Matt; grandson, Preston Wiseman and wife, Rebecca; great-granddaughter, Erminka Saige Beganovic; brother, Bernard Abbott and wife, Faye; sisters, Vilus Linkous and Holly Schickler and husband Glenn; and numerous nieces and nephews. Link retired from General Electric after 35 years of service.

The family will receive friends Friday, February 15, 2019 from 2 to 4pm and 6 to 8 pm at Simpson Funeral Home. Services will be held Saturday, February 16, 2019 at 11:30am at Simpson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. CJ Latham officiating. Interment will follow services at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.
