Obituary of James B. Sullivan

James B. "Jim" Sullivan, 65, of Roanoke went home to be with the Lord Sunday, February 10, 2019.  He was preceded in death by his mother, Charlene Sullivan, step-mother Mary Lou Sullivan, uncle, Michael Sullivan, mother-in-law, Phyllis Heiss, and father-in-law, Carl Schlientz.

Jim was a 4th Degree member and Past Grand Knight in the Knights of Columbus.  He was a member and past president of the Ancient Order of Hibernians.  He was an avid supporter of Roanoke Catholic Schools and their athletic program in addition to being a volunteer at RAM House and a huge Nebraska Cornhuskers Fan.

Surviving are his wife of 44 years, Chris Sullivan; son, Josh Sullivan and wife Anna; grandson (and apple of his eye) Tucker Sullivan; father, Leon Sullivan; sisters, Kathy (Bryan) Bowman, Linda (Al) Fisher; brother, Kevin Sullivan; sisters-in-law, Cathy (Jimmy) Allen, Carmen (Phil) Ponce, and Connie Rich; brother-in-law, Chuck Rich; aunt, Mary Ann Sullivan; uncle Pat Sullivan and wife Lou; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and special friends including Bob and Bertie VanKerckhove and their children.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to Roanoke Catholic Schools, The Knights of Columbus KOVAR, or to the Juvinile Diabetes Foundation.

Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Friday, February 15, 2019 at Simpson Funeral Home 5160 Peters Creek Road by the Rev. Steve McNally.  The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, February 14, 2019 at Simpson Funeral Home.  366-0707
