Obituary of John William Carlisle

John W. Carlisle, 71, of Roanoke went home to be with the Lord, Monday, January 14, 2019.  He was preceded by his parents, Mary and John Carlisle, former wife, Jean Carlisle, and brothers, Tim, Ricky, and Gary Carlisle.

Surviving are his wife, Gloria Carlisle; children, Delaine (Lisa) Carlisle, Brian (Kimberly) Carlisle, Shawn (Tracey) Carlisle, Melissa Carlisle, Felicia Rock, and Tonya Johnson; nine grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, three step grandchildren, one step great granddaughter; step daughter, DeAnna (Chris) Hughes; step son, Kevin Dillon; sister, Candi (Jeff) Dodd; brothers, Allen (Vickie) Carlisle, Ronnie (Debbie) Carlisle, Todd (Laurie) Carlisle, Bruce (Robin) Carlisle; special uncle, Larry Bryant; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society 2840 Electric Road Suite 106 Roanoke, VA  24018.

A memorial service will be conducted 6 p.m. Thursday, January 17, 2019 at Simpson Funeral Home 5160 Peters Creek Road.  The family will receive friends from 4-6 p.m. Thursday.  Arrangements by Simpson Funeral Home.  366-0707
