Obituary of Claude Eugene Kesler

Claude Eugene (Gene) Kesler, 88, of Roanoke passed peacefully Monday, December 17, 2018.  He was preceded by his wife of 69 years, Juanita H. Kesler; parents, Beverly and Caroline Schnapp Kesler; brothers, Beverly and George Kesler; and a sister, Juanita Conner.

Mr. Kesler was a member of Melrose Baptist Church.  He was a career Masonary Contractor and following his retirement he worked as a hotel maintenance engineer.  Gene was an avid outdoorsman with a special love of hunting and fishing.

Surviving are his son, Danny (Carole) Kesler; daughter, Susan Kesler (Shane) Robertson; grandchildren, Luke Kesler, Lindsay (T.J.) Taylor, Chris Robertson, and Melissa (Corey) Craig; eleven great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society.

Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Thursday, December 20, 2018 at Simpson Funeral Homoe 5160 Peters Creek Road with the Rev. Brenda Rowe officiating.  Interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at Simpson Funeral Home. 366-0707
