Obituary of Michael Lee Lancaster

Michael (Mike) Lee Lancaster, 60 of Roanoke passed away peacefully into the arms of the Lord on Tuesday, October 30, 2018 with his sister and brother-in-law by his side.  He was predeceased by his mother and father, Juanita and Thomas Lee Lancaster.

He was born on April 4, 1958 in Roanoke, Virginia.  He was a graduate of Cave Spring High School and Roanoke College.  Mike was a man of great faith and was blessed with many talents.  He was a very talented guitar player and played in many local bands over the years.  He enjoyed hanging out with the guys at Kelly’s Music store.  He was a friend  to many and a wonderful big brother to his sister.

Left to cherish his memory are his sister, Teresa Lancaster (Jeff) Ferguson, nephews, Nicholas (Samantha) Ferguson, and Christopher (Samantha) Ferguson; great nephew, Caleb Ferguson; numerous aunts and uncles including, Billy, Barbara and Carol Hall; and cousins too numerous to mention including, Gil (Lisa) Lancaster.

Special thanks to the staff at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital, especially the staff on the  9 th floor, South Intensive Care Unit for their many acts of kindness, care and compassion.

A celebration of Mike’s life will be conducted 2 p.m. Friday, November 2, 2018 at Simpson Funeral Home 5160 Peters Creek Road by the Rev. Greg Irby.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.  Arrangements by Simpson Funeral Home & Crematory.  366-0707
