Obituary of David Barton Young

David Barton Young, 82, of Roanoke went home to be with the Lord Friday, October 26, 2018.  He was preceded by his parents, David Masten and Ovella Elizabeth Yates Young, brothers, John, and Masten "Pete" Young, sister, Pauline Inman, daughter, Robin Denise Young, and wife Shirley Young.

Surviving are his son, David A. (Wendy) Young; special granddaughter, Jessi (Billy) Drennan; sisters, Annie Merriam, and Ovella "Sis" Hartman; step children, Kay DeHaven, Benny, Bobby and Timmy Poage; special step daughter, Kathy Mytko; and special nephew, Steve Young.

Funeral services will be conducted Noon Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at Simpson Funeral Home 5160 Peters Creek Road by Pastor Ken Butterworth. Interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends from 1-3 and 6-8 p.m. Monday at Simpson Funeral Home. 366-0707
