Obituary of Bonnie Scott Smith

 Bonnie Scott Smith, 61, of Roanoke went home to be with the Lord Thursday, September 13, 2018. She was preceded by her father, Robert (Scottie) Scott and step father, James (Jim) Johnston.

Bonnie was a 1975 graduate of William Fleming High School and was a member of Emanuel Baptist Church. She was an active participant in the Southernette's where she both took and taught baton.

Surviving are her husband of 34 years, Roger Smith; daughter, Deanna "Dee" Humphries; sons, Scotty Smith and Dean-o Smith; granddaughter, Lilly Cox; mother, Bobbie Johnston; step mother, Barbara Scott; brother, Mark Scott; step sisters, Robin, Beckie, Kathie, and Tammy; and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to the Alzheimers Association.

Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at Simpson Funeral Home 5160 Peters Creek Road. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday at Simpson Funeral Home. 366-0707
