Tollie C. Stallard, 72, of Roanoke, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 11, 2012. Mr. Stallard served proudly in the United States Army, worked at Greyhound Bus line and retiring after 35 years of service, then went to work at Advance Auto Parts and retired after 10 years of service. Tollie was raised a Master Mason in Cave Spring Lodge No. 230, A.F. & A.m. on November 7, 1967, and served as Master of the Lodge in 1972. He was also a member of Webber High Twelve Lodge No. 282 and formerly a member of the Scottish Rite Valley of Roanoke and Kazim Shrine Temple. Tollie was highly regarded for his love and knowledge of Masonic Ritual, and at his passing, served as Chaplain and Lodge Instructor on Work for Cave Spring Lodge. He coached and mentored many Masons over the years and his contributions to the Masonry in this capacity will continue on as those he taught go on to teach others. Tollie was a loving husband, father, and friend that will be dearly missed by all. Surviving are his wife of 30 years, Ellen F. Stallard; two daughters, Susan Moody and husband, Mark, of Vinton, and Dawn Lynch, of Rocky Mount; three grandchildren, Mollie and Erin Moody, and Wyatt Lynch; along with many friends. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society in his name. Masonic Rites will be held at 2 p.m on Friday, September 14, 2012, in Simpson Funeral Home.
