Obituary of Virginia Mabry

Please share a memory of Virginia to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Virginia Yopp Mabry of Elliston passed away on Sunday, August 19, 2018.  Heaven gained another angel and she joins her loving husband, J. Terry Mabry, sister, Effie Davis, daughter, Frances Melton, great granddaughter, Makayla Melton as well as other loved ones who have gone on before her.

Virginia was a sweet soul who would do anything she could to help someone in need.  She provided a safe loving place for her grandchildren and was a big part of their lives until her death.  She always enjoyed spending time with her family and especially seeing her great-great grandsons in the last few months.  She was known to them affectionately as “Granny Baby”.   There will be an awesome welcome for her in Heaven.

Those left to keep her memory alive are her daughters, Mary (Gene) Wood, Betty (Eli) Rose; seven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and eight great great grandchildren; and many other special family members and friends who she loved and were special to her.

The family would like to offer a very special thanks to the staff at Good Samaritan Hospice for their many acts of kindness, compassion and care during her final days.

Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Thursday, August 23, 2018 at Senneca Baptist Church.  Interment will follow in Gallilee Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Simpson Funeral Home 5160 Peters Creek Road.  366-0707
