Obituary of Evelyn H. Buchanan

Evelyn H. Buchanan 93 of Roanoke went to be with the Lord on Wednesday August 1, 2018. She was preceded by her husband of 72 years Howard “Buck” Buchanan, a son, Alan Buchanan and grandson, Eric Fogg. Along with her parents, and two brothers.

Mrs. Buchanan was a former member of Grace Baptist Church in Roanoke for many years. A very loving Mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend who will be dearly missed by all.

Left to cherish her memory are her two daughters, Beverly Fogg and husband Dale, Patti Gilbert and husband Sonny; four grandchildren, Glen Fogg and his wife, MaLisa, Amy Ingraham and her husband Bryan, Bobby Gilbert, Jr. and his wife Dawn and Jason Buchanan and his wife Melissa; twelve great grandchildren, Joshua, Brittny, Alissa, Shelby, Samuel, Gabriel, Gavin, Grace, Sadie, Justin and his wife Kelsey, Emily and Torre Wisher; three great great grandchildren, Eric Fogg, Bryan Fogg, and Carson Buchanan; a sister, Shirley Doyle and husband Thomas. Along with several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service celebrating Mrs. Buchanan’s life will be 2:00pm Monday August 6, 2018 at Simpson Funeral Home with Pastor Glen Fogg officiating. Interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. Family will receive friends from 12:30 until service time Monday at the funeral home.
