Obituary of James Dicky Trent

James William (Dicky) Trent, 74, of Roanoke, VA, went to be with his loving Father on Sunday, 29 July 2018. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter V. Trent and Betsy M. Trent, and his Father and Mother-in-law, Roy and Lillian Stanley.

He retired as a Truck Driver after working for Pilot, Redstar and Thompson.  He was a loyal member of the Teamsters Local #171, as well as a Veteran of the U.S. Air Force. Dicky was an active member of Vinton Wesleyan Church where he served on the Board of Trustees.

He is survived by his wife and friend of 53 years, Linda Stanley Trent; sisters Melva Blake and Mary Hamm; sons James William (Willie) Trent II and wife Becky Peroulas Trent, and Robbie Trent and wife Nicole Farmer Trent. Dicky is also survived by four grandchildren: James William (JW) Trent III, Samantha Nicole (Sam) Trent, Alexander Sackett Trent, and Lindsey Rose Trent.

A Remembrance Service and Celebration of his Life will be held at Vinton Wesleyan Church in Vinton, VA on Friday, August 3, 2018 at 3 p.m. The family will receive friends in a reception following the ceremony.  In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make contributions to the Building Fund at Vinton Wesleyan Church.
