Betty Joan Wharton Magee 86 of Roanoke passed away Thursday July 26, 2018. She was preceded by her husband Richard Morris Magee. They were happily married for 63 years and loved going camping and fishing together. Her parents, John and Lelia Saul Wharton, her sisters, Ceatta Wharton and Charlotte Helm, her brother-in-law, Garland C, Roth, also preceded her.

 

Betty is survived by her sister, Flora Bernice “Billie” Roth; nephews, John Roth, Rod Marshall-Roth and wife Melanie, and their children, Travis and Madeleine, Keith Roth and his wife Patricia; She is also survived by a sister-in-law, Margaret Blankenship, along with and several other nieces, nephews and cousins.

 

The family would like to give a special thank you to Good Samaritan Hospice, especially our nurse Sherry for all their care.

 

The family will receive friends at St. James Episcopal Church, 4515 Delray Street, Roanoke from 6:00-8:00pm Monday July 30, 2108. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday July 31, 2018 at 2:00pm at Sherwood Burial Park in the Abbey with Rev. Robert Copenhaven officiating.
