Obituary of Gloria Hall Smith
Gloria Hall Smith 91 of Fort Myers formerly of Roanoke went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday July 25, 2018. Her daughter, Vivian Truxell, and sons William E. Smith II and Stephen Smith, along with seven siblings, preceded her.
Mrs. Smith worked as a Decorator for the Sears and Roebuck Company before retiring as a Switchboard Operator for Carilion Hospital. She lived in Roanoke for 63 years before relocating to Fort Myers to be with her family. While here in Roanoke, she was a member of the New Life Christian Ministries where she was very involved and was a Sunday School Superintendent. A very loving and caring mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend who will be dearly missed by all.
Surviving are her three daughters, Bonnie Koren of Roanoke, Donna Doss and husband Larry of Kentucky, and Virginia Freiburger and husband Robert of Florida; grandchildren, William E. “Billy” Smith III, Amy Oldham, Todd Bishop, Christy Koren West, Ron Koren, Brandy McKinney, Desireé Doss, Kate Owenby, Kristen Pell, and Mark Freiburger. Along with many beloved friends too numerous to mention.
