Obituary of Jay Scott Abbott

Jay S. Abbott, 56, of Roanoke, passed away, Wednesday, July 4, 2018. He was born May 28, 1962 in Roanoke. The youngest son of Caudel (Link) Abbott and the late Elizabeth (Libby) Abbott. Jay is survived by his daughter, Julie Abbott (Dino Beganovic); infant granddaughter, Saige Beganovic; step-son, Preston Wiseman (Rebecca); best friend, Helen Cook; brothers, Caudel Abbott (fiancée, Debbie Giordano); Jeff Abbott (Jeni), nieces, Meghann Gearheart (Matt), and Cynthia Kerr (Richard); and his fur family. Jay was employed by Hooker Furniture for over 25 years. The family will receive friends Friday, July 6, 2018 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at Simpson Funeral Home Chapel. Services will be held Saturday, July 7, 2018 at 1 p.m. at Simpson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. CJ Latham officiating. Interment will follow services at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.
