Obituary of Ruth Marsico Schoonover

Ruth Marsico Schoonover, 86, of Salem went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, June 20, 2018.  She was preceded by her husband of 68 years, Emerson William Schoonover, Sr., parents, John Frank and Trula Rakes Marsico and several brothers and sisters.

Surviving are her sons, Emerson William Schoonover, Jr. and wife  Karen, Dennis Wayne Schoonover and wife Debbie; Daughters, Peggy S. Bradley and husband Bob, Sharon Schoonover and David; grandchildren, Dennis W. Schoonover, Jr., E. W. Schoonover, III and wife Christy, Adam Schoonover and wife Amy, Jason Schoonover, Amanda Thompson and husband Brian, Megan Bradley, Shelly Dix and husband Josh, and Heather Thurman; ten great grandchildren,  brother, Tony Marsico.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.

Funeral services will be conducted  2 p.m. Friday, June 22, 2018  at Simpson Funeral Home 5160 Peters Creek Road.  Interment will follow in Sherwood Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Simpson Funeral Home.  366-0707
