Obituary of Daniel Edward Rogers

Daniel E. "Danny" Rogers, 70 of Salem went home to be with the Lord Saturday, June 2, 2018.  He was preceded by his son, Toby Rogers, and parents, Edward Lee and Mary Phelps Rogers.

Danny was a graduate of Northside High School, and retired from General Electric as an Inventory Control Specialist.  He was a member of the IUE-CWA Local # 161. 

He was an avid Washington Redskins and New York Yankees fan.  He enjoyed taking golf trips with his wife, and spending time with his grandchildren.

Surviving are his wife of 44 years, Rhonda Long Rogers, and two grandchildren, Glory Rogers and Evan Rogers.

In lieu of flowers, please consider gifts to the Memorial Fund of Daniel Rogers, c/o Laura Linkous, 190 Salem Lane, Christiansburg, Virginia 24073. all contributions will be used for the well being and education of his two grandchildren.

A celebration of Danny's life will be held 2 p.m. Monday, June 11, 2018 at Simpson Funeral Home 5160 Peters Creek Road.  Pastor Alan Combs will officiate.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
