Arrington, Jean Ella Saunders, 90, of Roanoke went to be with Jesus on Wednesday, May 23, 2018. She was the daughter of the late Charles Pleasant and Emma Lina Simmons Saunders. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Elbert Arrington, her brother Joseph Roger Saunders and wife Hattie Saunders; and brother-in-law David Elliott.

Surviving are her sister Margaret Elliot, of Boise, Idaho; 3 sons, 3 daughters and their spouses; her children, daughter and son-in-law Gloria and Donald Broadwater of Mount Sheridan, Queensland, Australia; son and daughter-in-law James Larry and Cindy Arrington of Salem; son and daughter-in-law Barry and Carolyn Arrington of Roanoke; daughter and son-in-law Joyce and Jeffrey Ham of Roanoke; son Matthew Arrington of Salem; and daughter and son-in-law Gretchen and Randy Jamison of Roanoke. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at Grace Church (2731 Edgewood St SW, Roanoke, VA 24015) on Saturday, August 25, 2018 at 11:00 am. Family will receive friends and relatives 1 hour prior to the service at Grace Church.

Memorial contributions may be made in Jean's name to Grace Church. Also, everyone is invited to wear a hat to the service/visitation in memory of Jean!
