Obituary of Elizabeth Garman Eakin

Please share a memory of Elizabeth to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Elizabeth Garman Carroll Eakin went to her Heavenly home on Tuesday, April 24, 2018, at age 103. She was the youngest of 17 children born to William and Luemma Garman and lived in the Catawba Valley all but the past few years of her life.  She was a member of Grace Assembly of God in Catawba.  She was preceded in death by husbands, Clarence Carroll and Gordon Eakin, daughter, Jeanie Thompson, grandchildren, Suzanne Nanette Camper, Elizabeth Jane Camper, Eddie Carroll, and great grandson, Sean Addam Hampton Thompson.

She is survived by daughters Nancy Camper (Jimmy) and Barbara Shelor, son Rev. Ted Carroll (Tina), 12 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 2 great  great grandchildren as well as many special nieces and nephews.

Elizabeth loved spending time in her colorful yard, whether it be tending her flowers or decorating for holidays.  For years she enjoyed being a member of the Star Dusters square dance group.  She had many hobbies including cooking, sewing, and crafts, and she received great enjoyment sharing these with others.  She enjoyed spending time with her family and we are thankful for many many years we were blessed to have her with us.

The family would like to express our sincere thanks and appreciation for how she was so lovingly cared for by the staff at Snyders Nursing Home in Salem.

We are thankful and blessed to know that after many years on this earth, she is now enjoying a Heavenly home with her Savior.
