D. Elane Kamp, 85, of Roanoke passed away Thursday, August 30, 2012. She was born September 26, 1926 in Martell, Nebraska a daughter of the late Charles and Anna Daugherty. She was the fifth of eight children, six of which have preceded her in death. She will be remembered by family and friends in Nebraska, Kansas, Florida, Montana, and Virginia. Surviving are her husband of 65 years, Herman "Red" Kamp; children, Patricia Kamp of Roanoke; Deborah Barrett of Dillon, Montana; and Derek Kamp of Austin, Texas; grandchildren, Barbara DeNowh of Helena, Montana; Kristina Kamp and Alexander Kamp both of Toledo, Ohio; sister, Rosemary Upton of Lincoln, Nebraska. In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society. A memorial service will be conducted 3 p.m. Tuesday, Septmber 4, 2012 at Simpson Funeral Home 5160 Peters Creek Road. The family will receive friends following the service.
