Obituary of Anthony Ray Millsaps

Anthony Ray "Shorty" Millsaps, 59, of Roanoke passed away Wednesday, March 28, 2018.  He was preceded in death by his father, the Rev. James R. Millsaps.

Shorty was a Past Commander of the Sons of Amvets, and worked as a welder and steel fitter in the steel industry.  He was a devout North Carolina Tarheel fan and a lover of all types of music.

Surviving are his mother, Betty N. Millsaps; siblings, Patti Spann and husband David, Lou Ann Oliveira and husband Blaine, Tim Millsaps and wife Becky, Michael Millsaps and wife Dana; many special nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

The family would like to offer a very special thank you to the staff at Good Samaritan Hospice and especially nurse Sarah.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorials be made to Good Samaritan Hospice or to Blue Ridge Cancer Care.

Funeral services will be conducted 4:30 p.m. Friday, March 30, 2018 at Simpson Funeral Home 5160 Peters Creek Road by the Rev. Chris Cadenhead.  The family will receive friends from 2:30 until service time at Simpson Funeral Home.  366-0707
