Obituary of Grace Love Martin

Grace Love Martin, 90 of Roanoke, went home to be with the Lord on Friday February 23, 2018. She was born November 27, 1927. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Love and Lillian Flick Love, and her husband, Jesse Booker Martin, Jr.

She and her husband operated Jay-C Associates at Happy’s in Roanoke. Grace was a lifetime member of West End Presbyterian Church. Over the years, she was a caregiver for aunts, brothers, sisters, and cousins, not because she had to but because she wanted to. She had a big loving giving heart.

Surviving are her sons, Barry Martin (Carol), Richard Martin (Susie), all of Roanoke, Tony Martin  (Debbie) of Abilene, Texas; grandchildren, Ryan Martin, Aaron Martin (Marie), Michael Martin (Molly), Brian Martin (Joanna), Jeremy Martin (Jami), Ashley McFadden  (Warren), Josh Martin, Lindsey Martin Black, and Jake Martin; great grandchildren, Andrew Martin, Amy Martin, Holly Martin, Shawn Martin, Naomi Martin, Henley Martin, Ethan Martin, Elizabeth Martin, Jackson Martin, Brandon Martin, Kaitlyn McFadden, Arren McFadden, Caden Martin, Auston Martin, Jace Martin, and Madison Black.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to West End Presbyterian Church, 1200 Campbell Ave, S.W. Roanoke, VA 24011 or Roanoke County Rescue Squad #5, PO Box 7464, Hollins, VA 24019.

Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, March 2, 2018, at 11:00am at  Simpson Funeral Home 5160 Peters Creek Road officiated by her nephew, the Rev. Charles A. (Tony) Ward, and Rev. Robin Williamson. Interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00p.m. Thursday, March 1, 2018, at Simpson Funeral Home. The family is very grateful to the staff at Blue Ridge Cancer Center, Heartland Hospice, and Friendship Manor 2 North for the loving care and comfort they gave to Grace and her family.
