Obituary of Eunice Claudette Powell

Eunice Claudette Powell, 78, of Roanoke, (the owner of Claudette's Hair Center) went peacefully home to meet her Savior on Thursday, February 15, 2018. She was preceded by her parents, Eunice Lillian Tibbs and Claude Woodrow Rice, and a half-sister, Darlene Rice Jones.

Claudette loved to dance and have fun. She was an accomplished hairdresser. She loved to work in her yard and had a beautiful back yard that she spent hours working in as long as her health allowed. Claudette was what you would call a very feisty individual.

Surviving are her son, Ronceverte Powell, III of Roanoke; daughter, Crystale Dawn Powell of Jacksonville, FL; a granddaughter, Ashley Sieger and husband Chris; great grandchildren, Austan, Houstan, Fate, Baleigh, and Caleb. Also surviving are sisters, Barbara Rice Widner and half-sister, Katha Rice Strouth.

A graveside service will be conducted 1 p.m. Monday, February 19, 2018 in Fair View Cemetery. There will be no public visitation. Arrangements by Simpson Funeral Home. 366-0707
