Dana Richard "Rick" Ridenhour, 58, of Roanoke quietly passed away on Friday, August 24, 2012 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital. He was born on May 24, 1954 in Roanoke, Virginia. Rick was preceded in death by his father, Donald "Don" Ridenhour and a sister, Mary Ridenhour. In his early years Rick was very active in sports and was an exceptional athlete. He earned his living as a plumber and was very good at his trade. Surviving are his mother, Charlotte Ridenhour and his brother, Donald Ridenhour, II and wife Susan. He is also survived by an aunt, Virginia Bender and uncle George Drewry, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to the Roanoke Rescue Mission. A graveside service will be conducted 1 p.m. Wednesday, August 29, 2012 in Mountain View Cemetery in Vinton by the Rev. Glen Giles. There will be no visitation.
