Clifford J. Bowling, 83, of Bedford went home to be with the Lord, Saturday, August 25, 2012. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Charlotte Ann Cormany and a son, Clifford Allan Bowling. Mr. Bowling served in the U S Army during the Korean War. His passion in life was "coon hunting" and fishing. Surviving are his children, Doris Marie Bowling of Bedford; Dennis Albert Bowling and wife Nancy of Boones Mill; Susie Florence Bowling of Bedford; and Robert Lynn (Bobby) Bowling, Roanoke; grandchildren, Heather Lee, Steven (Eddie) Ireson, Jeremiah Johnson Bowling, Dallas Dodd, Timmy Hodges, Brittany Mary Bowling, Jesse Andrew Price; great grandchildren, Ravin Caughey, Peyton Lee, Kaden Dodd; brother, Chester Bowling of Bedford; devoted friends, Ray Brown and his family; and former wife and mother of his children, Janiree Hamilton. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to a military charity of the donors choice. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at Simpson Funeral Home 5160 Peters Creek Road by the Rev. Joseph Peters. Interment will follow in Bowling Family Cemetery, Bedford County. The family will receive friends from 6 - 8 p.m. Tuesday at Simpson Funeral Home. 366-0707
