Jessie Ruth Baker Whitlock, 90, of Salem, passed away, and went to be with the Lord, Wednesday, January 24, 2018. She was preceded in death by her parents Ohmar C. and Lizzie S. Baker; husband, Joseph C. Whitlock Sr.; siblings, William P. Baker, Delmar B. Baker, Pearl M. Baker, Shirley A. Baker, and Henry W. Baker; grandson, Travis M. Whitlock.

Jessie is survived by her children, J.C. Whitlock Jr. and wife Sue, and Mitch Whitlock and wife Teresa; brother, James C. Baker and wife Ann; grandchildren, Cynthia W. Lichtenstein and husband Mike, Joseph A. Whitlock and wife Rebekah, and Crystal Sumner and husband Geoff; great-grandchildren, Reese Whitlock, Joseph M. Whitlock, Tyler Conner, Emma Lichtenstein, Alyxandra H. Sumner, and Cecelia D. Sumner; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, step-grandchildren, and step-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, January 30, 2018 from 1-2 p.m. at Simpson Funeral Home, with services following at 2 p.m. at Simpson Funeral Home with Pastors Sam Huntley and Doug Hollenbeck officiating. Interment will follow services at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park. Arrangements by Simpson Funeral Home & Crematory. (540)366-0707.
