David A. Plunkett 60 of Rocky Mount, Va. passed away Monday January 22, 2018 after a short battle with cancer. Born on June 22, 1957 in Roanoke, Va.

 

Surviving are his parents Dennis J. and Barbara Lawson Plunkett; brothers, Rodney Plunkett and wife Diane of Ipswich, MA., Bruce Plunkett and wife Mary of Roanoke; a niece, Chesley Plunkett Hall and husband Brandon of Wilmington, Ohio; nephews, Spencer Plunkett of Chelsea, MA., Evan Plunkett of Baltimore, MD; grandnephew, Scotty Hall, Jr of Wilmington, Ohio.

 

David graduated from Patrick Henry High School, then attended Radford University and Richmond University.

 

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Roanoke Memorial Hospital Palliative Care Unit for their excellent care for David and to his special friends at Tanyard Village Apartments in Rocky Mount for their care and support.

 

A funeral service will be held 11:00am Friday January 26, 2018 at St. James Episcopal Church, 4515 Delray Street, NW, Roanoke with Rev. Susan Bentley officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00am until service time at the church Friday. Inurnment will folllow in Evergreen Burial Park.
