Obituary of William Lawrence Pelletier

William Lawrence “Larry” Pelletier 89 of Roanoke finished his earthly journey to join his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday January 17, 2018. He was born in Newport, North Carolina on May 27, 1928, the oldest child of William and Bessie Barnes Pelletier. Along with his parents, he was preceded by a brother, ONeil Pelletier of Hubert, NC, and a stepdaughter, Gina Willis Hayes of Roanoke.

 

Left to cherish his memory is his most devoted son, Brett L. Pelletier, stepson, Mark Willis and his wife Sarah; grandchildren, Jacob and Bethany Willis of Bluff City, TN; special nieces, Crystal Morton of Cape Carteret, NC, and Robin Morton of Hubert, NC.

 

Larry served proudly in the United States Navy from 1951 until 1954, stationed mostly in San Diego, CA.

 

When Larry left the Navy, he was employed with the Civil Service in Cherry Point, NC. He moved to Roanoke in 1969 to work for the Commonwealth of Virginia, training employees for the Ingersoll Rand Company. Later worked for Gardner Denver, Inc. and Ralph Smith, from which he retired.

 

A Celebration of Life Service will be held 2:00pm Saturday January 20, 2018 in the Chapel of Simpson Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 1:00pm until service time and also following the service. Inurnment will be private.
