Obituary of Nancy Sybil Downey

Nancy Sybil Downey of Roanoke went to be with the Lord on Friday December 29, 2017.

 

Mrs. Downey retired after 35 years of service with the Roanoke Civic Center in the Concessions Department. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 159. In addition, was a past Worthy Matron of Chapter 159. She also volunteered for her local LOA Agency. In her spare time, she also enjoyed working in her garden growing beautiful flowers, and spending time with her family. A very loving and caring, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend who will be dearly missed by all.

 

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Dreama Downey, Crystal Lyle and husband Gary, Nancy Mason and boyfriend Bo Broyles all of Roanoke; three grandchildren, Ashley Lyle, Matthew Beheler, Michael Davis Burgette; four great grandchildren, Savannah Dales, Nathan Lee Beheler, Nicholas Beheler, and Charleigh Renee Burgette. Along with a host of other family members and friends too numerous to mention.

 

Flowers will be accepted or memorials to the American Cancer Society in Mrs. Downey’s memory.

 

A graveside service will be 12:00pm Wednesday January 3, 2018 in the Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens with Pastor Robert Haley officiating.
