Obituary of James Lucas

Jimmy H. Lucas, Jr., 32 of Vinton, went to be with the Lord on Monday, August 20, 2012. Jimmy is a 1997 William Byrd High School graduate and worked for the Roanoke City School District. Surviving are his children, Austin Snow and Kaitlin Kerns Lucas; fiancée, Christine Nichols; mother and step father, Bonnie and Alan Desper, Goodview; father and step mother, James Sr. and Sherry Lucas, Roanoke; step sisters and step brothers, Amy Hill, Wesley Breeden, David Desper, Tina Desper; close friends, Cliff and Erin Smith along with Patrick, David and Diana, Jeff. And host of other relatives and friends to numerous to mention. The family would like to say thank you to the Roanoke Memorial Hospital Neuro trauma ICU nurses, Peter Roder and Brad Close. Also to Dr. Garry Simonds and his surgical team, the critical care team for their exceptional care and support during this difficult time. A service celebrating Jimmy's life will be 11:00am Thursday, August 23, 2012 at the Life Tabernacle Church, 801 Virginia Ave. Vinton, with Pastor Tino Maciel officiating.
