Obituary of Kathy Jean Walters Yeatts

On Monday, November 20, 2017 Kathy Jean Walters Yeatts, 63, of Vinton heard the voice of Jesus say, “You have finished your race, enter into your peace thou good and faithful servant”.  She was preceded by her father, Gene R. Walters.

Surviving are her loving husband of 45 years, Dennis; son, Anthony Yeatts and wife Carey, daughter, Shikara Cerak and husband Joe; son, Devin Yeatts and wife Chelsea; by seven very spoiled grandchildren, Darien, Katerina and Abigail Cerak, Noah, Elijah, Joseph and Liam Yeatts; mother, Louise Walters; sisters, Vanessa McReynolds and Terry Arbogast and husband Bobby.

Kathy was an active member of Mineral Springs Baptist Church of Vinton for 26 years.  There she served her Lord training children in the Awana Sparks program.  She was also a member of the Roanoke East Camp Auxiliary of the Gideons International.  Kathy was a faithful office employee at Northwest True Value Hardware for many years.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorials be made to either the Mineral Springs Baptist Church Building Fund, The Gideons International, or Come Go With Us, Zambia.

Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at Mineral Springs Baptist Church, Vinton, VA by Pastor Jason Gault.  Interment will follow in Old Dominion Memorial Gardens  Condolences may be left for the family at www.simpsonfuneral.com  The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Simpson Funeral Home 5160 Peters Creek Road.  366-0707
