Obituary of Janet Hunter Dey

Janet H. Dey, 86 of Daleville passed away Wednesday, September 13, 2017. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Florence Lyness Dunn, and her husband, Jayanta Dey.

During Janet’s adult life she lived in New York City, London, and in the Feather Sound Community of Clearwater, Florida. While living in New York City she worked as a legal secretary. When she moved to Daleville she joined the knitting group affectionately known as the “knit wits”, and attended St. Mark’s Episcopal Church.

Surviving are her brother, Peter Dunn and wife Pamela Garrison; nieces and nephews, Victoria Dunn, Christopher Dunn, Richard Dusenbury, Ryan Dusenbury, Andrew Dunn and wife Alex, Pamela Dusenbury and husband Richard.In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to the Shriner’s Childrens Hospital in Greenville, South Carolina.

A memorial service will be conducted 11 a.m. Thursday, September 21, 2017 at St. Marks Episcopal Church Fincastle, VA by the Rev. Willis Logan. Arrangements by Simpson Funeral Home & Crematory. 366-0707
