Charles K. "Chuck" Benson, Jr., 59, of  Conway, SC, formerly of Salem, VA passed away suddenly on Saturday, August 19, 2017 at his residence.  Chuck was born in Roanoke on December 7, 1957 to Charles K. Benson, Sr. and the late Marie Hinchee Benson.  Chuck loved anything and everything Chevrolet and was an avid fan of both Dale Sr. and Dale Earnhardt Jr.He always dreamed of living the beach life and recently moved there this past year.  He had an amazing sense of humor and the ability to make people laugh.  He previously worked in the parts department at Berglund Chevrolet and also worked at Hollins University.  Chuck was an AVID lover of cats, especially his cat Snick.  He was always posting on Facebook the music of the 50's, 60's and the 70's which brought back many memories. 

Chuck was loved by many and will be deeply missed by all who knew him,

Survivors include his wife Mary Benson, daughter, Alicia Haskins and husband Jonathan of Roanoke; father, Charles K. Benson, Sr. and wife Pat of Salem; brother, Richard Lee "Rick" Benson and wife Janelle; step-sisters, Angela Mitchem and Tammy Manning of Salem, VA; also several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.  Visitation will be held at Simpson Funeral Home & Crematory, 5160 Peters Creek Road on Wednesday, August 23, 2017 from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM. Inurnment will be Private. 

In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to the charity of the donor's choice.
