Obituary of Sally Wilson Webb
Sally Lou Wilson Webb, age 80, died peacefully on August 6, 2017 at her home in Roanoke Virginia, surrounded by loving family after a brief struggle with cancer. Sally was born September 17, 1936 in Dickenson County Virginia, she was born to the late Reverend Harry and Nannie Wilson.
Sally graduated from Emory and Henry College where she met the love of her life Jim Webb, whom she married in April 1958. She was a devoted teacher for over 40 years and an inspiration to generations of students.
Family and friends were Sally’s joy and delight. She was loved and respected by so many people who embraced her as mother, grandmother, mentor and friend. Sally’s sense of humor, positive approach to life and generosity were an inspiration to all who knew her.
Sally was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church and an active volunteer.
Sally is survived by her husband Jim, daughters Tammy Chittum, Margaret Webb-Nolan and Jeff Nolan, son-in-law, Zach her grandson, nieces, Alice Hartless (Keith), nephew, Bill Buckland (Kim).
Additional relatives including but not limited to nieces, Becky Guynn, Amy Alexander, Connie Grotepas, nephew Philip Webb, great nieces and nephew, Adam Hartless, Amanda Hartless, Heather Buckland, Holly King and many close friends.
Sally is preceded in death by her daughter Lois Ann and sister Margaret Buckland.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, August 9, 2017 from 2-3 p.m. at Simpson Funeral Home Chapel. Services will follow at 3 p.m. August 9, 2017, at Simpson Funeral Home Chapel with interment following services at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Simpson Funeral Home & Crematory.
