Telford W. Boitnott 90, of Troutville died Monday, July 24, 2017. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Arthur and Gladys Silvers Boitnott, and his devoted K-9 friend, Princess

.Telford served in the U S Army, was a Charter member of Northview United Methodist Church and a member of the Seekers Sunday School Class. He retired after almost 41 years of service with General Electric.

Surviving are his wife of 65 years, Mary Grace Kay Boitnott; children, Christopher A. Boitnott, William H. Boitnott and wife Nance, and Julie B. McNutt and husband Alan; grandchildren, Sarah and Wesley McNutt; brother, Frederick C. Boitnott and wife Sandra.

The family would like to offer a very special thanks to the staff on 2 West at the Virginia Veterans Care Center for their many acts of kindness and compassion during Telford’s illness.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorials be made to Northview United Methodist Church 521 Ridgecrest Drive Roanoke, Virginia 24019.

There will be a gathering of friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, July 27, 2017 at Simpson Funeral Home 5160 Peters Creek Road. Inurnment will be in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens at a later date. Arrangements by Simpson Funeral Home & Crematory. 366-0707
