Obituary of Anne Harvey Kratzke

Anne Harvey Kratzke, 90, died unexpectedly at her home in Roanoke, July 6, 2017. She was an independent resident of The Park Oak Grove.

She was born June 26, 1927, in the Bronx, NY, a daughter of Ruth and Maitland Harvey. After high school she attended Katherine Gibbs business school. She worked at American Home Foods in Manhattan, NY, where she met her husband of 56 years, Warren Kratzke. They raised their family in Westchester County, NY. After many years as a homemaker she worked for the Reader's Digest, in Chappaqua, NY. She and Warren spent many happy retirement years in High Meadows, NC and the Suntree area of Melboune, FL. Anne was a lifelong Episcopalian and a devoted member of churches wherever she lived, most recently St. Elizabeth in Roanoke.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Janet Mark. She is survived by her son, Donald Kratzke, and wife Carol Rice, of Clinton Corners, NY, and daughter, Abby Mellon, and husband David, of Roanoke; three granddaughters; a grandson; two great grandchildren; and three nephews.
