Obituary of Lois Rae McGhee

Lois Rae McGhee 74 of Roanoke, formerly of California went to be with the Lord on Wednesday June 28, 2017. She was preceded by her husband, Marion Buel McGhee, her parents, Virgie M and Elmer L Blackwood, eight siblings, Vena Willis, Eva Taylor, John Blackwood, George Blackwood, Rita Steckenfinger, Linda Flemming, Jerry Blackwood, and Wayne Blackwood.

Mrs. McGhee moved to Roanoke 10 years ago after her retirement to be closer to her family. She enjoyed being with her family and friends, and had a love of reading. A very loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend who will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Eddie Leroy Phillips and wife Angie of Louisiana, Marjorie Wade and husband Scott of Roanoke; six grandchildren, Tawny Tanner, Jennifer Goodman, Andrea Goodman, Rachel Meche, Micah Phillips, and Jonathan Phillips; six great grandchildren, Derek Matney, Dustin Matney, Melania Waller, Mayli Tanner, Selena Newman, and Gabriella Newman. Along with a host of other relatives and dear friends too numerous to mention.
