Obituary of Ayrie S. Glover

Ayrie Spangler Glover, 89, of Roanoke, passed away Friday, June 9, 2017.  She was preceded in death by her husband Raymond (Buddy) Glover, parents, Hugh and Lela Janney Spangler, brothers, David, Ernest, and Ronald Spangler, and a sister Viola Phlegar.

She was the church secretary for Connelly Memorial Baptist Church for 30 years.  Prior to this she worked for 25 years at Tabernacle Baptist Church as secretary, and with the Paul Agee Insurance Agency.  Ginger was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church for 55 years, where she was active in all areas of the church family. 


Survivors include her children, Randy Glover of Martinsville, and Becky Kea and husband Gene Kea of Roanoke.  The beloved grandchildren are Skyler, and Meredith Kea, and Shannon Altice and husband Brandon, all of Roanoke.  She is survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.


Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday June 17, 2017 at the CommUNITY Church 1923 East Main Street Salem with the Rev. Dan Carawan officiating.  Interment will follow in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 2 until 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, June 16, 2017 at the Simpson Funeral Home.
