Ruby Louise Overton Forrester, 84, of Roanoke passed away peacefully Monday, July 16, 2012 with her daughters at her side. Ruby was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was born in Roanoke, Virginia a daughter of the late Willie and Carrie Hobson Overton. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Jack, a son Jack Scott Forrester, brothers, Bill, Malvin, Roy, and Leo, a sister, Dorothy; and a daughter-in-law, Sharon. Ruby was retired from Lewis Gale Hospital. Surviving are her daughters, Debbie Denison and fiance' Bobby Durham, Carrie Lovern and husband David; sons, Mike, Roger and wife Sharon, and Gary and wife Mary. Also surviving are two sisters, Barbara Barlow of Roanoke; Joan McCulley of Virginia Beach; and a brother, Donald Overton of Floyd. Numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. To honor Ruby's request, a graveside service will be conducted 11 a.m. Thursday, July 19, 2012 in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park with the Rev. Paris Bain officiating. There will be no public visitation.
