Obituary of Charles G. Sisler

Charles G. Sisler 90 of Roanoke passed away peacefully Sunday June 4, 2017 at the Carrington Cottage in Daleville with family by his side. 

Mr. Sisler was born in Roanoke, Virginia and graduated from Andrew Lewis High School in Salem. He served proudly in the United States Air Force and worked with photography teams in Guam.  He returned to Roanoke and graduated with a degree in Economics from Roanoke College. He had a long career in financial services working in various positions with CIT Financial and Farmers National Bank of Salem. He was a Vice President of First Virginia Bank at the time of his retirement. In his retirement he enjoyed collecting and dealing antiques, traveling and he loved being in his garden. 

Surviving are his children, son, Mark Sisler and wife Michelle of Goochland, daughter, Karen Cregger and husband James of Troutville, and son, Scott Sisler of Roanoke; four grandchildren, Sarah Flohr, Rebecca Dowd, Melanie DeKerlegand, and Benjamin Cregger; and six great grandchildren. He also leaves behind a brother David Sisler and wife Lynn of Sioux Falls, South Dakota.  

The family requests in lieu of flowers memorials may be sent in Mr. Sisler's name to the Medi Hospice of Roanoke, Virginia. The family would also like to thank the staff of Carrington Cottage for their care, support and laughter with "good time Charley".  

A graveside service will be held 12:00pm Wednesday June 7, 2017 in Fair View Cemetery with Rev. Walter Wood officiating. Family will receive friends before the graveside service at Simpson Funeral Home from 10:00am until 11:30am. Condolences may be left for the family at www.simpsonfuneral.com.
