Obituary of Thelma Marie Kirby

Thelma M. Kirby, 77, of Roanoke went home to be with the Lord, Friday, June 2, 2017. She was preceded by her parents, Emmett Pultz and Ruby Kinnunen, and a daughter-in-law, Melinda Dunn.

Mrs. Kirby retired from I. T. T. She was a great mother, devoted grandmother, and loving mother-in-law.

Surviving are her children, James Dunn, Dale Kirby and wife Dana, Felicia Helton and husband Bobby; grandchildren, Jami Myers and husband Travis, Jessica Jones and husband David, Lauren Kirby and Michael Campbell, Lindsay Kirby and Brittany Helton; great grandchildren, Lindy Myers and Lilly Dunn; sister, Janet Harner and husband Robert; special friends, Leslie Doss and family, Joyce Hall, Earline McCauley, and Brenda Horne

.The family would like to offer their thanks to Dr. Anthony Stavola and staff, the staff in the Friendship Manor dialysis department, and the staff at Richfield Care and Recovery Center for their many acts of care and compassion. The family offers a very special thanks to daughter and caregiver, Felicia Helton, for everything that she did during their mom’s illness.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorials be made to the American Heart Association

.A funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday, June 4, 2017 at Simpson Funeral Home 5160 Peters Creek Road. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends from noon Sunday until service time at Simpson Funeral Home. 366-0707
