Obituary of Halsey Arnold Meador

Halsey A. “Hal” Meador, Jr. 58, of Roanoke went home to be with the Lord, Thursday, June 1, 2017. He was preceded by his father, Halsey A. Meador, Sr. , mother, Barbara Goode Stoner, and father-in-law, Wade Oliver Caldwell.

Hal was a graduate of William Fleming High School, served in the U S Army and retired from the Roanoke City Sheriff’s Department.

Surviving are his wife of twenty-three years, Terri C. Meador; sons, Kyle Wade Meador, and Daniel Caldwell Meador; brother, Kevin Meador and wife Tae; sister, Kathy Woods; niece, Erika Stewart; nephew, Benjamin Meador.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society or the SPCA.

The family will honor Hal’s request that his remains be cremated. A memorial service will be conducted 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at Simpson Funeral Home 5160 Peters Creek Road by Pastor Randy Martin. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Arrangements by Simpson Funeral Home and Crematory. 366-0707
