Obituary of Rita Gertrude Ross

Rita Efkeman Ross died peacefully on Sunday, May 28, 2017 at Our Lady of the Valley in Roanoke, VA at the age of 87. She was predeceased by her husband of 41 years, Albert Efkeman, and husband of 14 years, Chester Ross, as well as a son-in-in-law, Gary McCoy.

Rita is survived by her children, Julia McCoy of Manchester, Missouri, Albert (Marlene) Efkeman of Roanoke, VA, Edward (Burnadette) Efkeman of Woodbridge, VA, Richard (Debra) Efkeman of Allison Park, PA, and Ann (George) Robertson of Columgia, SC; sixteen grandchildren, and seventeen great grandchildren.

The family would like to offer a special thanks to the staff at Our Lady of the Valley for the many acts of compassion and kindness during Rita's residency.

Services for Rita will be in her hometown of Cincinnati, Ohio. The family will receive friends Saturday, June 3, 2017 from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m. at the Mihovk-Rosenacker Funeral Home 5527 Cheviot Road. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. at St. Ignatius Church 5222 North Bend Road. Interment will follow in Saint Mary's Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorials be made to the the Sisters of Notre Dame De Namur 701 E. Columbia Avenue Cincinnati, Ohio or to Ursulines of Cincinnati 1339 East McMillan Street Cincinnati, Ohio.
